ASSESSMENT OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ ONLINE SPECIFIC EPISTEMOLOGICAL BELIEFS

The purpose of this study is to develop a domain-specific scale that would be used determine epistemological beliefs university students towards online learning media. In the developed are designed as multidimensional reflect both belief system perspective and developmental perspectives revised by Hofer Pintrich (1997). 1058 volunteer attended remote classes during Covid-19 pandemic participated in answered items. scope result exploratory factor analysis, structure 15-item came forward 2-dimensional, namely Nature Knowing Knowledge dimensions. It was noted load distribution items varied between 0.40 0.74. Cronbach Alfa coefficient calculated for reliability found 0.80 each dimension. Also, it established two-factor explained 39.44% total variance. considered sample has rich cultural diversity acts bridge Asian European continents adding an intercultural scale. Thus, believed deductions comments made with “Online-Specific Epistemological Beliefs” valid reliable.
